23-09-2008 - Forward Freight transported complete new canning-line for a beer brewery

For one of our key clients in Nigeria, Fast Forward Freight transported in September a complete new canning-line for a beer brewery. Total weight approx 154 metric tons and a volume of 1450 cubic meters.

The Nigeria Department worked closely with Fast Forward Freight’s Special Projects combining the knowledge of chartering and exporting to Nigeria. The type of aircrafts used are Antonov’s AN 124-100, chosen because of its size and ability to fly mid/long-range distances. The challenge was to arrange transport from various suppliers located in the EU, storage and consolidation at FFF’s offices in HAM and LGG where the AN124’s departed from. Because of the sheer size of the pieces special road transport had to be arranged. After obtaining the required permits in several countries the collection could take place. FFF calculated that the two chartered Antonov AN124 were unable to carry the entire shipment and therefore the overflow had to be part-shipped on a Boeing 747 freighter which Fast Forward Freight arranged. In order to make sure everything went smoothly, members of both Nigeria department and Special Projects planned, handled, coordinated and supervised the loading. All flights have landed safely in LOS as scheduled

For this project Fast Forward Freight arranged:

- Two chartered Antonov AN 124-100
- Complete documentation including customs clearance
- Permits for exceptional transport by road
- Special road transport from Germany, Italy and the UK
- Storage and consolidation
- Handling equipment and handling crew at HAM and LGG
- Transport for the flight crew’s to and from the hotels.
- Dangerous goods handling and documentation
