Following a competitive tender, global fitness brand Gymshark has selected EV Cargo Global Forwarding to support its strategic international expansion.
Gymshark is a sports clothing and accessories brand, manufacturer and online retailer based in the UK. The company has expanded rapidly since it was founded in 2012, with customers in 131 countries and support from millions of engaged social media followers. EV Cargo will manage international transportation by air, sea and road; shipping goods from worldwide suppliers and manufacturers across the USA, Asia, Europe and Australia.
Ronnie Young, Head of Logistics at Gymshark commented: “We chose EV Cargo as they clearly demonstrated extensive garment supply chain capabilities. Their energy, people, culture, technology and network are an ideal fit for our global expansion.”
Two key outcomes from the business award are automation and enhancing the visibility of the global flow of goods. The partnership will see Gymshark deploy EV Cargo’s supply chain software, LIMA (Logistics Information Management Application). LIMA will enable the sports brand to streamline its supply chain, merchandising and logistics processes.
Rowena Buntrock, Product Development Director, EV Cargo Global Forwarding says: “Gymshark is a young, entrepreneurial company and we’re delighted to be chosen to support them on their ambitious growth plans. Cultural alignment is important to us in working with our customers. Gymshark has a refreshing approach and we’re looking forward to supporting with further innovation and optimisation of their supply chain.”
Amy Wallace, BPI & Implementation Manager, EV Cargo Global Forwarding is responsible for the on-boarding of Gymshark to the EV Cargo platform and streamlining of processes: “We’re using our global network and control tower teams to manage the end to end flow of goods. As we start to implement, we’re naturally reviewing all freight operations to ensure we maximise efficiencies at every turn.” The business goes live in April 2021.
